| Final Royal Oak 3 v Favourite 'A' 7 | Semi Final Draw | 1st Round Draw |
The Final Between the Favourite 'A' and the Frog took place at the neutral venue Chiswick Memorial Club
The frog had managed to beat the Hammersmith Club and the Royal Oak in previous rounds so were full of confidence when they walked through the doors of the club. This confidence was given an early boost when they realized the Favourite were missing three of their stronger players through holidays.
To be be fair the Favourite were fielding a couple of changes but as they like to say now it was merely squad rotation... if the big premier league clubs can do it then why not the Favourite.
Alan Sutch and John Mortimer of the frog came firing out of the blocks in the first leg with scores of 140 100 140 against Jason Clark and Martyn Miles taking the first leg in fine style but this was equaled in the next two legs by the favourite pair of Miles and Clark taking the first point in the race to seven.
The Frog then held their nerve to level up the score when Chris Long and Dennis Ford fell to Steve Young and Mark Croxford.
The Fav went 2-1 up when a few flash finishes from Mark Williams and Martin Ekis nicked the third against Jamie Croxford and Jimmy Hart
Then came the Top threes with the Fav running away victors and with the scoreline now standing at 3-1 the heads were dropping fast.
The match then took on a very unfamilar look with nearly every leg incurring double troubles for both teams.
With the standard sadly dropping it was the Fav 'A' who manged to come off the better on the double front and won through 7-3
