CONDITIONS OF ENTRY TO THE H.D.D.A.
Preamble
The ‘Association’ is the Hammersmith and District Darts Association.
The ‘League’ is any League held under the auspices and sanctioned by the Association.
‘Competitions’ are any competitions / tournaments / cups held under the auspices and sanctioned by the Association.
The ‘Committee’ is the committee of the Association as elected, appointed or co-opted at the annual general meeting.
The ‘A.G.M.’ is the annual general meeting of the association held in accordance with the rules of the association.
Constitution
The association shall be known as the Hammersmith and District Darts Association herein after referred to as the Association.
Objectives of Association
1. The promotion of good fellowship.
2. To organise competitions for the benefit of such organisations as may be determined at each Annual General Meeting, such meetings being responsible for distribution of such funds as may be available.
Rules
Entrance
3. League teams must register at least 6 players (men and women) in the Winter and 6 (men and women) in the Summer.
Teams may register as many players as they wish.
Charges (£2 per player) may apply to teams if their number of registered players exceeds 13 in the Winter League and 13 in the Summer League.
4. Entry forms/ contact forms must contain:
A list printed names and corresponding individuals signatures,
Clearly provide the name, address and the telephone number(s) of the home venue.
The name, address and telephone number(s) of the Club Secretary through whom all League and Competition communications should be sent. And all e-mail addresses available
5. Entry into the association and its Leagues is not automatic.
Entry forms must be submitted for each season.
6. The Committee will consider all entries and decide on acceptance to the Association and its leagues.
The Committees decision is always final.
Player registration
7. New players may be registered during the first half of the season only. That is before half of the scheduled games have been played.
The name(s) of new players must be submitted to the League Results Secretary (John Bryant) for clearance before they can play.
8. Registered players can take part in all competitions and matches arranged by the Association, but only with the team he is registered with in the current season. The ONLY exception to the rule is for the Blind Pairs Competition.
9. Entry and registration fees will be notified on entry forms for the League, Competitions, etc.
Entry forms will only be considered if accompanied by the correct fees.
The amount of registration and entry fee is set by the committee. ( this is to be no higher than £30 per season )
9.a Since 2005 The Committee have offered no league fee for the first season for new teams, returning sides and new sides with more than 50% new players.
10. No transfer of players will be allowed during any one season. If a Player signs for a team and then wishes to sign for another BEFORE the start of the season, this will only be allowed once BOTH secretaries from the teams involved give permission.
11. County players are permitted to play in League.
Each team may sign on county players or players considered of the same level. But a team may only play 4 of said players. In any one Match. (one of these players must be a home grown player (A home grown player is a player who has been in the association for the minimum of Six seasons)).
County players are permitted to play in any division.
Again the Committees decision is final
Fees and Fines
12. Teams not represented at the general meetings will incur a fine of £2.00 per general meeting missed.
12a. Teams who fail to send match sheets in will incur a fine of £2.00 per late sheet
13. Withdrawal of a team during the season will entail the cancellation of all points gained.
All games played or games still to be played will become null and void.
Accordingly league positions will be affected.
14. Should a team withdraw during a cup competition having won a tie, the defeated team are deemed to still be knocked out and the team that subsequently draws the withdrawn team shall be given a ‘walk over’ into the next round.
15. Any team (or group of players) that withdraw during the season without completing their fixtures will be required to pay an extra registration fee if they wish to rejoin the association at a future date.
The amount of this additional fee will determined at the A.G.M.
The decision by the committee in this respect will be final.
16. The nominated Secretary and Captain of each team are responsible if entry fees etc. are not paid to the association in proper time.
The committee will take whatever action it considers necessary – up to and including expulsion from the League and/or Association of individuals and/or teams.
No player is to sign for more than one team, in doing so they will become ineligible to play for any team within the Association.
17. A £20 deposit will be payable to the League by all teams.
This sum will be refundable when all matches/fixtures have been played.
If a team can not or is unable to fulfil a fixture they must notify the opposition whether at home or away with a minimum of 24 hours notice. This provides time for the cancellation of catering, transport and sundries.
Failure to provide enough notice results in the forfeit of the deposit.
17.a Fee’s for Both Summer and Winter Seasons Shall be no higher than £30 each.
Cups and Trophies
18. Annual cups and trophies shall remain the property of the association at ALL times.
In the event of an individual leaving their club or a team leaving the association, the cups and trophies shall be returned to the association. This does not include prizes awarded to individual members.
19. At the Annual Presentation Night, Cups may be awarded (to be held for one year) to the winners and runners up of:
The Winter League Div 1 & 2,
The Summer League, Div 1 &2
The Captains / Secretaries Cup,
The Fours Tournament,
The Three’s Competition,
The Pairs Competition,
The Singles Competition,
The Britannia Cup Tournament.

Individual prizes, which become the property of the Winners, are also presented.
The Association provides eight prizes for the teams in the Winter and eight prizes in the Summer.
Extra trophies may be ordered and paid for by teams in advance. ( cost for extras is £15)
Prizes are also awarded for the highest “checkout” in a League game in both the Summer and Winter Leagues. The score must be shown on the result cards and be initialled by both secretaries.
Sundries
20. Although it is not compulsory to supply food on League nights it is considered to be an unwritten rule and of a sportsmanlike conduct to so.
General Match Nights
21. The home captains or captains’ appointee will put the players’ full name on the board in the order of play.
He then completes the match sheet with the signatures of both team players.
22. Match sheets from League matches must be printed and signed before the match commences.
23. The captain or the secretary of both teams is to sign the match sheet showing the result at the end of the match.
24. The winning team are responsible for returning the completed and signed match to the League Results Secretary (
25. The match cards must reach the League Results Secretary no later than the Tuesday following the match.
26. A Quick contact e-mail is available and will be accepted until the match sheets are handed in, the address for this results@fsmail.net
27. Match result sheets not received on time; result in the forfeiture of the match (and points) gained.
28. Home teams must provide a chalker. Visiting teams may provide a checker for each game if desired.
29. Once a dart leaves the hand (in a throwing action) it shall be counted as thrown.
30. The bulls-eye counts as double 25 on a finish.
31. Players may ask what is scored or the score required from the checker and or the chalker and they can be told, but not the double required (i.e. told 8 not double 4).

34. Four players may be substituted during the course of a game (i.e. before the pairs, and before the singles, but not during or before the threes or the reverse threes) once a player has been substituted they cannot be put back into the match.
Meetings
Meetings
35. The Annual General Meeting of the Association shall be held before the end of the Summer League and before the start of the Winter League.
36. General Meetings will be held five times a year discretion of the committee, normally on the first Sunday of the month.
37. The venue of the meeting shall be choosen at he A.G.M. the current venue is the Favourite Public House.
Voting at Meetings
38. A.G.M.’S — All members of the association are entitled to attend and vote.
Each member is allowed one vote per count only.
There shall be no proxy voting, voting on behalf of anyone else or absentee voting.
39. General Meetings — No more than two members (preferably Secretary and Captain) should attend from each club.
Voting shall be confined to one vote per club of the Association represented at the meeting.
40. Voting shall only take place after Committee discussion and at the Committee’s discretion.
Objectives of General Meetings
41. To pass general and specific information to the Secretaries for them to pass on to their members.
42. All nominations and proposals for the A.G.M. must be handed in by the monthly meeting immediately prior to the A.G.M.
Financial Year
43. The accounts of the Association for the previous year duly audited shall be presented to the Secretaries at the monthly meeting immediately prior to the A.G.M.
44. A vote will be held at the A.G.M. to approve or disapprove the accounts.
45. Once the accounts for any one year are approved by the membership at the A.G.M. no further objections will be entertained.
Officers
46. At each A.G.M. there shall be elected the following officers:
● Chairman.
● League Secretary.
● Treasurer.
● League Results Secretary
● Competition Secretary.
● Promotions
● Site Constructor
● Division One Player Representative
47. Each candidate for election to the post of one of the Officers must be of ‘good standing’ and seconded by a current member, of ‘good standing’.
48. For the purposes of these Officers elections ‘good standing’ means having no outstanding Fines / Fees and being at liberty in the United Kingdom.
49. Should any office have only one candidate stand for election, the candidate is deemed to have been elected unless there is an objection raised by at least two of the current Committee.
50. Should any office have no candidate stand for election the Committee may co-opt and appoint a member of the association to fulfil the duties of the office for no longer than one year.
51. A previously co-opted Committee member may stand for election for an Office at the forthcoming A.G.M.
52. The Officers elected at an A.G.M. do not take up their duties until the A.G.M. is declared closed by and on the agreement of the standing Committee.
Committee
53. The object of the committee is to uphold the Constitution of the Association and to oversee the easy running of the Association.
Nominations for election to the committee must be received by the monthly meeting immediately prior to the Annual General Meeting
53a. A member cannot be elected onto the committee until he/she has been a H.D.D.A. member for at least three seasons.
53b A member can be co-opted onto the committee if he/she is not a H.D.D.A. member for less than 3seasons but shall not have a full committee vote.
The enterance fee for the winter season will be no higher than £30

57. Visitors throw first, and then alternate with the home team throughout the evening.
58. 6 players form the team, who must print and sign the card before play commences and play in the order in which they are put on the board by the captain or his appointee.
4 reserves may be used but they must have already signed the card and their names been added to the board.
59. Players may be substituted at any time after the first 3’s, after the pairs, after the singles, but cannot be put back into the match once substituted.
60. Teams with players short may play any late arrivals in the following game, as long as the opposition’s captain has been notified of the late arrival.
No one can throw for absent players.
If a team has absent players they must miss that throw throughout the match.
61. One person can play a Pair, two can play a three, . The missing players score is to be put down as nil.
62. Teams with less than four players forfeit the match.
63. A team who haven’t enough players to play a match but have a min. of 4 players can turn up and play friendly.
This protects their Goodwill money and will not be penalised for not having enough players.
64. All 13 games count, but three match points are awarded to the first reaching seven games.
If a team loses 7-6 they are awarded one point.
65. If the opposition fails to turn up (or has less than 4 players), the team present must sign the match card in the usual way, the opposition should be marked as “team failed to show” and return the card to the League Results Secretary or mark down if a friendly has been played. The team present will be awarded three points and 7 legs for, none against. The team not present will awarded no points and 13 legs against.
66. The committee will take any other action considered necessary.
67. The winning team is responsible for sending the card to the League Results Secretary.
68. Trophies will be awarded to the winners & second placed teams in each division, with a maximum of 8 individual trophies per team.
Additional Trophies may be ordered from the League BUT these MUST be paid for in advance.
69. No automatic promotion / relegation is in place, if a team wishes to enter a different division they must notify the committee at the start of the season before.
70. Any team that does not inform an opponent that they will not be able to fulfil a fixture 24 hours prior to the game, or does not field at least six players on the night will be deemed to have made no show and will lose their goodwill money.
71. The throw should be 7’9 ¾’’ to the board and 5’8’’ from floor up to the bulls-eye.
72. In any dispute about these rules the committee will act, as arbiter & their decision will be final.
Summer League Format
73. Matches will be played on Thursday evenings and will commence no later than

Singles
94. The draw for the singles shall be made at a venue chosen by the committee to enable fair play and so any member of the association can witness the draw.
The draw shall be carried out by the Competition Secretary (
95. The singles competitions are to be divisional.
96. The format for the singles competition shall be 501 straight start double to finish best of five until the finals night where the format remains the same until the semi finals and the final depending on time (i.e. semis best of 7 & the final best of 9) the singles competition shall take place during the Winter season.
97. Prizes shall be given the Winner and the Runner-up.
The committee shall decide if the losing semi-finalists are to receive any prizes; this depends on the financial status of the League and also the amount of entrants to the competition.
98. The Winner is also awarded the association’s perpetual trophy, which is only allowed to be taken if said player remains in the association or if his team remain in the association.
If the player or team decide to take this award, the Captain or the Secretary of this team shall then sign for it, taking full responsibility of the care of the trophy and will be charged in full if any damage to the trophy occurs or it is lost or stolen.
99. To enter the competition each player must be a registered player with the Association.
100. Competitions shall commence no later than

103. In any dispute about these rules the committee will act, as arbiter and their decision will be final.
Pairs
104. The draw for the PAIRS shall be made at a venue chosen by the committee to enable fair play and so that any member of the association can witness the draw.
The draw shall be carried out by the Competition Secretary (J Clark) and must be witnessed by either another member of the Committee or two normal members of the Association.
105. The format for the pairs competition shall be 601 straight start double to finish best of five until the finals night where the format remains the same until the semi finals and the final depending on time (i.e. semis best of 7 & the final best of 9) the pairs competition shall take place during the Summer season.
Reserves are not permitted.
106. Prizes shall be given to the Winners and the Runners-up.
107. The Winners are also awarded the association’s perpetual trophy, which is only allowed to be taken if said player’s remains in the association or if his team remain in the association.
If the players or team decide to take this award, the Captain or the Secretary of this team shall then sign for it, taking full responsibility of the care of the trophy and will be charged in full if any damage to the trophy occurs or it is lost or stolen.

114. The format for the threes competition shall be 601 straight start double to finish best of five until the finals night where the format remains the same until the semi finals and the final depending on time (i.e. semis best of 7 & the final best of 9).
Reserves are permitted but not until match is over i.e. 3-0, 3-1, or 3-2.
Once a reserve has been put in no other changes may be made that evening.
115. Prizes shall be given to the Winners and the Runners-up.

122. The draw for the fours shall be made at a venue chosen by the committee to enable fair play and so that any member of the association can witness the draw.
The draw shall be carried out by the Competition Secretary (J Clark) and must be witnessed by either another member of the committee or two normal members of the association.
123. The format for the fours competition shall be 701 straight start double to finish best of five until the finals night where the format remains the same until the semi finals and the final depending on time (i.e. semis best of 7 & the final best of 9).
Reserves are permitted but not until match is over i.e. 3-0, 3-1, or 3-2.
Once a reserve has been put in no other changes may be made that evening.

Britannia Cup
131. Entry for the Britannia cup is automatic for all teams in the Winter League and from 2003/04 seasons the entry fees shall be included into League Fees
132. The Britannia Cup is run as a knockout competition and the format will be the best of five legs, straight start, double finish.
This will carry through to the final.
4 reserves are permitted but not until a leg is over i.e. 1-0, 1-1, 1-2, or 2-2.
Once a reserve has been used he may not be used again during that match.
133. Each round shall be drawn.
134. Prizes shall be given the Winners and the Runners-up
135. The Winners are also awarded the association’s perpetual trophy, which is only allowed to be taken if said player’s remains in the association or if his team remain in the association. 137. Entry for these Comps is automatic for Div. 1& 2 teams in the Summer League
138. Both comps are a knockout competition and the format will be of a ROUND ROBIN format in which each team pick a six-a-side team split in the usual way of two threes and three pairs each pair plays 3 games (all the oppositions pairs) and each three plays 2 games (both the oppositions threes) the first side to 7 are through to the next round.

143. IN THE GEORGE COLLIS (DIV 1) PAIRS ARE THE BEST OF 3 AND FOR THE D.M.J. (DIV 2) ALL GAMES ARE 1 LEG
The Captains and Secretary’s Cup
144. The Captains and Secretary Cup is to be played on one night during the Summer season.
145. Only the names on the Captain / Secretary sheet are allowed to enter and no reserves are allowed.
146. The format will be best of three 501 played as follows:

The “John Inniss” 180 Trophy
150. Any player who hits a “180” during the course of the Winter and then Summer season will qualify for the 180 competition.
This competition is designed to bring a different look to darts creating different kinds of games.
151. Players who hit “180” must have the result card signed by both secretaries on the night.
No signature, No “180”.
152. Only 180’s that are scored during League matches qualify.
Highest Finishes
153. Awards are given to the highest finish in each division, each season.
154. All finishes should be put onto a result card and signed by both secretaries.
No signature, No finish.
Only finishes hit during League matches qualify.
Other Items
155. Objections, disputes or protests should be made in a courteous manner and complaints sent in writing with two signatures within 3 days to the League Secretary of the association.
Complaints made to other Committee members will not be accepted.
156. The decision of the Committee on any matters arising will be final.
157. Situations may arise which are not covered by these rules and it is expected that goodwill and common sense will prevail.
158. Any changes to these rules will be notified at the monthly meetings.
159. Presentation Night is to be held on a Thursday night, the venue will be choosen at the AGM.
160. Other competions such as In House Pairs and Singles / Blind pairs are not compulsory and are run at the discretion of the competition sec. The rules shall be explained before each comp.
161. Other competitions may be played out during the coarse of the seasons these will be run at the discretion of the commmittee
162. The Committees decision is always final.
163. As voted in at the 2007 AGM any team who wins Division Two back to back shall be given automatic promotion to Divsion One.
